Alright Green Grapes Blog (GGB) readers—it’s time to up the health ante! We talk about leading a more healthifying lifestyle here at GGB, but as your momma told you, actions speak louder than words. It’s time to join the GGB Nutrition Challenge!

What’s the GGB Nutrition Challenge?

Each season, GGB invites you to send healthy recipes based on the season’s Challenge, complete with a list of ingredients and step-by-step preparation directions. Each recipe MUST be accompanied by a single photograph of the fully prepared item (check out an example from the Food Network and use the form at the end of the page as a guide). If you know your recipe’s nutrition information, please send that as well.

There’s NO LIMIT for how many times you “GGB Challenge yourself,” and you can submit as many times as you want until the deadline of each Challenge, when 3 finalists will be chosen based on their recipe’s healthfulness, tastiness, and relavence to the  Challenge. If you become a finalist, your recipe will be posted on the “Finalists” page, where GGB readers will have one week to vote for the winning recipe.

If you win a Challenge, you will be notified via email and have your recipe permanently featured on the “Stars” page (along with your blog or website name, if you’ve got one). Each winner will also receive a prize!!!

Lastly, I must say, this is the blog of a gal who mainly cooks with a skillet and only a skillet–so don’t feel as if your recipe must be Top Chef style–it can be, but doesn’t have to be–just make sure it’s GGB healthifying style!!!

GGB Nutrition Challenge Official Rules

Submission Requirements:
  • Your name, e-mail address, and recipe title. Also, include your blog or website name, if you would like to have it posted as well
  • Adherence to the Challenge’s Theme
  • An ingredients list with amounts and step-by-step preparation instructions
  • Submissions must include a single photograph of the fully prepared dish. Please send one image only
  • Include nutrition information if you have it and it is credible (i.e. you calculated it with NutritionData.com)
GGB Nutrition Challenge Rules:
  • Deadline for submission will vary (check the top of this page)
  • GGB readers have one week to vote for the winning recipe
  • Each person is only allowed one vote (automatically determined by the poll)
  • Winners will be notified via email. At this point, you will be asked the address where your prize should be shipped
  • Winners will have their recipe and link to their blog or website featured in the “Stars” section
  • Once submitted, recipes and photographs will become property of GGB. (Note: Don’t fret. This simply means you consent to your recipes and photographs being showcased on GGB. The recipes and photographs will only be shared by GGB on GGB and will ALWAYS include the name of the finalist/winner and link to their blog or website, if indicated by the submitter)
  • There is NO LIMIT to the number of times a GGB reader enters a Challenge
  • There is NO LIMIT to the number of times a GGB reader may submit a recipe. However, please note that participants are limited to one finalist recipe per month
  • Lastly—this is a health blog. Recipes should be healthful.

How to Enter:

Please send all recipes and photographs with your name and recipe title in the “Subject” by the Challenge deadline to the below e-mail. You will receive a confirmation email within one week of submission.
